Kiera Cass Book Signing Event!

On August 3, Kiera Cass, the auther of The Selection Trilogy visited the Philippines and had a book signing in National Bookstore, Glorietta 1.

I attended the event alongside my younger sister, Sam and her best friend while our mom waited for us at Starbucks. I had finished reading The Selection last year and was head over heals with it! When my sister finally came around to reading novels, I suggested the book to her and she ended up loving it as well! We fangirled for weeks on end and one day, as we're walking around the mall, we see a poster saying that Kiera Cass was coming to Manila! We were so excited and couldn't wait for the day to finally arrive!

A week before her arrival, we suggested the book to her best friend, who managed to read the first book in less than a day! She was hooked too and eventually came with us to the book signing.

When we arrived for registration, the bookstore was filled with girls! We were in such a shock to see so many people! But it wasn't until the event actually started that we realized how huge this was. National Bookstore was packed with girls (and a few guys!), they had set up a mini stage against the wall and rows of chairs but after a while, there was just no more space! We all had to huddle to get a look at Kiera as she was interviewed before signing any books.

There were over 600 people all gathered in one place for this incredible writer! The signing started at around 4:30 pm but there were so many girls that I had to wait until almost 10 in the evening to finally get my fifteen seconds with her!

But I have to say, it was totally worth it.

I was on the floor for hours on end with Sam and her friend! So many people were squished together that we could barely move! After a while we sort of got bored and starting talking with the girl beside us.  We ended up talking for hours until she had to go and leave.

We waited a few more hours until, finally, our numbers were called.

Please don't mind my awful look! I was exhausted!
When I finally came up to her I said, "Oh my God. I stayed up until 2 am because I was so excited to see you!" She laughed and was the sweetest person ever! She signed my book, and my sister's and I was able to get a picture with her!
